About Us
Seizing an exciting opportunity, Wallem Philippines Shipping ventured into the air cargo industry when it was appointed as the Airline GSA (General Cargo Sales Agent) of Cargolux Airlines International S.A. (Luxembourg), Europe’s largest all-cargo airline since 1994
Our Start
Driven by the Philippine government’s success in securing a reparation agreement with Japan, hence, Wallem decided to establish an office in Manila in 1965. This agreement involved the construction of numerous cargo ships specifically for the Philippines. These ships would then be managed by selected Filipino shipowners, presenting a significant opportunity for the domestic shipping industry.
Incorporated in 1970, Wallem Philippines Shipping, Inc. (WPSI) became a locally managed company affiliated with the Wallem Group. Leading the company from the start was Reginaldo Oben, who joined WPSI as President and local owner. Oben’s experience was well-suited for the role, as he had previously received training at Wallem & Co. Ltd in Hong Kong.
Under Reginaldo Oben’s able leadership, Wallem Philippines Shipping has gone from strength to strength over the years. Today, the company stands as one of the Wallem Group’s most valued members. Additionally, we are now targeting the acquisition of more Airline GSA partnerships in the coming years.

Container Liner Agency
The Container Liner Agency Division leverages its network of highly reputable shipping lines, leaders in their respective trades. Building on this extensive network, combined with the services of our various principals, we achieve unmatched global coverage, practically reaching all points across the globe.
Wallem Philippines Shipping, Inc. has been the sole partner of Heung-A Shipping Co., Ltd. of Korea since their arrival in Manila in 1986. Heung-A Shipping began as a semi-containerized carrier and under Wallem’s partnership, grew into a leading full-container carrier. In late 2019, Heung-A Shipping’s container liner business was spun off into a separate entity, Heung A Line Co., Ltd.
Tramp Agency
Manned by an experienced and knowledgeable staff, our Tramp Agency Division handles different types and sizes of vessels including Pure Car Carriers, Roll-On / Roll Off vessels, Heavy-Lift Project Vessels, VLCCs, LPG carriers, Chemical Tankers, Bulk carriers, Cruise and/or Vessels, and Navy / Military Ships.
Our Boarding Agents and Vessel Operators, having vast experience in providing services to large and small ships at terminals, wharves, piers and anchorages, are trained for any and every situation.
